Timon: Pumbaa, let me define babysitting!
Kovu: I humbly ask to join your pride.
Simba: No! You were banished, along with the outsiders.
Kovu: I have left the outsiders. I'm a rogue, judge me now, for who I am. Or am I to be blamed for a crime I didn't commit?
Vitani: Where's your pretty daughter, Nala?
Kovu: [talking to himself] Okay, I have to tell her today. Oh, where do I start? "Kiara, Zira had a plot, and I was part of it, but I don't want to be... because... it's because I love you."
Pumbaa: I thought you were gonna watch her
Timon: No, you were going to watch her.
Pumbaa: Watch this!
[tackles him]
Timon: Take that, you creepy warthog! Say it, fat! Fatty fat fat.
Simba: Kiara!
Zira: Kovu!
Simba: Stay out of this!
Kiara: Daddy, this has to stop.
Zira: You're even more pathetic than you are. Get out of the way!
Kovu: You won't hurt Kirara or Simba! Not while I'm here.
Simba: Why are you doing this?
Kiara: A wise king once told me, "We are one." I didn't understand him then. But now I do.
[Kovu just rescued Kiara from the wildfire]
Kiara: Where am I?
Kovu: You're safe - in the Pride Lands.
Kiara: The Pride Lands? No! Why'd you bring me here? Who do you think you are?
Kovu: [shocked] I think I'm the one that just saved your life!
Kovu: [points out where the grass has grown back from the fire, between them] Hey, look... we are one.
Kiara: What?
Kovu: Let's get outta here. We'll run away together! And start a pride... all our own.
Kiara: Kovu... we have to go back.
Kovu: You're kidding. But we're finally together!
Kiara: Our place is with our pride. If we run away, they'll be divided forever.
Kovu: I never heard the story of Scar that way... he truly was a killer.
Simba: Fire is a killer. Sometimes what's left behind can grow back better than the generation before
[swipes paw over dust to reveal a small plant]
Simba: If given the chance.
Simba: As long as you live here, it's who you are. You'll understand someday.
Rafiki: Oh Mufasa, you've been up there too long! Your head is in the clouds!
Zira: What is your destiny?
Kovu: I will avenge Scar. Take his place in the Pride Lands.
Zira: Yes! What have I taught you?
Kovu: Simba is the enemy.
Zira: And What... must... do?
Kovu: I must kill him!
Mufasa: Well done, my son. We are one.
[the spirit of Mufasa shows his plan to bring peace to the Pridelander/Outlander feud]
Rafiki: What? Kovu, Kiara together? This is the plan? Are you crazy? This will never work! Oh Mufasa, you've been up there too long, your head is in the clouds!
[Kiara and Kovu are stargazing]
Kovu: I've never done this before.
Kiara: Really? My father and I used to do this all the time. He says all the great kings of the past are up there.
Kovu: You think Scar's up there?
[Shocked, Kiara doesn't answer]
Kovu: He wasn't my father, but he was still part of me.
Kiara: My father said there was a darkness in Scar that he couldn't escape.
Kovu: Maybe there's a darkness in me too.
Kiara: [about letting Kovu return to the Pridelands] Daddy, please! Reconsider!
Simba: You will not go anywhere without an escort from now on.
Kiara: No! That's not ...
Simba: He used you to get to me!
Kiara: No! He loves me, for me!
Simba: Because you are my daughter! You will not leave Pride Rock. You will stay where I can keep an eye on you - away from him!
Kiara: You don't know him!
Simba: I know he's following in Scar's paw prints, and I must follow in my father's.
Kiara: You will never be Mufassa!
[Simba is horrified; Kiara runs off, crying]
[Rehearsing speaking to Simba]
Timon: The good news is, we found your daughter. The bad news is, we dropped a warthog on her.
Simba: Stay out of this!
Kiara: A wise king once told me, we are one. I didn't understand him then. Now I do.
Simba: But they...
Kiara: Them? Us. Look at them, they are us. What differences do you see?
[Kiara and Kovu are running with Timon and Pumbaa]
Kovu: Why are we doing this? What's the point of this training?
Kiara: Training? This is just for fun!
Kovu: Fun?
Timon: Yeesh! You need to get out more. Fun! Yee-ha!
[Kovu pounces, only to realize Timon is there]
Timon: AHHH! Don't eat me, please! I... I never really met your tyrant, I mean, uh, Scar! Scar, oh heck of a guy. A little moody, but...
Kiara: Timon, what are you doing here?
Timon: Kiara! Thank goodness! Oh. Hey, for once, we're not following you. This just happens to be the best smorgasbord in the Pride Lands! Bugs everywhere! But, you don't call for a reservation and... yeesh!
Zira: It's over, Simba! I have dreamed of nothing else for years!
Timon: [speaking to himself] Boy, does she need a hobby.
Young Kiara: I'm not just a princess, you know. That's only half of who I am!
Pumbaa: Oh, who's the other half?
Young Kiara: Umm... uhh...
Young Kovu:What are you doing?
Young Kiara: My father says never to turn your back on an Outsider!
Young Kovu: And do you always do what your father says?
Young Kiara: NO!
Young Kovu: Bet ya do! Bet your Daddy's little girl!
Timon: That's not a king. That's a fuzzy maraca!
Kiara: Them? Us? Look at them... they are us! What differences do you see?
Simba: Stand aside.
Kiara: Daddy, this has to stop.
[Kovu growls at Zira]
Simba: Stay out of this.
Simba: A wise king once told me, "We are one." I didn't know what that meant. But now I do.
Simba: But, they….
[Being chased by lions]
Pumbaa: What do we do now?
Timon: Remember our motto: "When the going gets tough, the tough get going!"
Pumbaa: Wait a minute, I thought our motto was "Hakuna Matata".
Timon: Pumbaa, stop living in the past. We need a new motto!
[Kiara and Kovu are stargazing]
Kiara: That one looks like a cute bunny. See the fluffy tail?
Kovu: Yeah. Hey! That one looks like two lions killing each other for a scrap of meat! Ah, I've never done this before!
[Timon and Pumbaa are surrounded by Lions]
Timon: [holding Pumbaa's tail] Don't anybody move! This things loaded... I'll let you have it!
Young Kiara: Will somebody please just listen to me?
Timon: I'm sorry, I wasn't listening. Did you say something, Princess?
[Timon and Pumbaa are fighting]
Simba: What are you doing?
Pumbaa: Ahh!
Timon: Good question. Uh, let me ask you one.
Pumbaa: Hippothetically.
Timon: Very hypothetically. There's this guy...
Pumbaa: But he's not a lion...
Timon: No. No, he's not a lion. Yeesh, definitely not a lion... and uh... uh, his daughter, um, say... vanished?
Zira: Well done, Kovu. Just like we've always planned.
Simba: You!
Adult Kovu: No! I didn't have anything to do with this!
Zira: Attack!
Timon: [he and Pumbaa narrowly escape being trampled by a herd of antelope] This must be where the deer and the antelope play!
[about Kiara]
Nala: Simba, who does she remind you of?
Simba: What? Who?
Nala: She's just like you when you were young.
Simba: Exactly!
Rafiki: You follow old Rafiki! He knows the way!
Kiara: Where are you taking us?
Rafiki: To a special place in your heart called... Upendi!
[while surrounding himself in a ring of fire with his torch]
Nuka: Roasty-toasty princess! Roasty-toasty princess!
[Stops]
Nuka: Hey, is it hot in here or is it just me?
[Notices he's in a ring of... ]
Nuka: Fire!!
[to Vitani]
Zira: If you will not fight, then you will die as well.
